Veliko Turnovo: This ancient city is one of Bulgaria’s premier tourist attractions with over 7000 years of history to explore. Walking is one of the best ways to get around the city and whether you’re sightseeing, shopping, dining or drinking there really is something for everyone.

Uzana Resort: Only 45 minutes from Hill View House is this beautiful and busy resort. Skiing in the heart of the Balkan Mountain Range is an experience never to be forgotten. The season runs from December to March with passes costing roughly £15/20 a day.

Tsarevets Castle: The mediaeval stronghold served as the Second Bulgarian Empire’s primary fortress as far back as 1185. Today it is home of the Tsarevgrad Turnov – Sound and Light audio show, one of the most spectacular sights in Bulgaria.

Arbanassi: The village of Arbanassi is one of the most picturesque old settlements in Bulgaria and a must on any history buffs list. A thriving and important Christian hub in the 15th century was turned into ruins by raging Kurdjalii gangs. Rebuilt on top of these ruins is the beautiful village you see today.

Yantra River: The rivers lies at the bottom of a 7 kilometre long gorge on which Veliko Turnovo surrounds. This special environment is home to some of the best walking, rock climbing, mountain biking and horse riding in Bulgaria.
